Right now there is no release date. Sony had been saying 'a Spring release' however, that HAS been pushed back. Sony CEO Howard Stringer confirms suspicions that the PlayStation 3 won't be released until the holiday season 2006 in an interview in Variety magazine. So there for in ANYONE tells you they know the date of release they are full of crap, until Sony releases that information



As for the price point.. I don't know who said something about $400.. double that. the Current price point for the

PS3 is around $800. But again, THAT all depends on what

Sony is keeping in or taking out of the PS3.. it's not going to be cheap that's for sure. Blu-Ray DVD players starting priceing will be about $1000 for the low end systems. the PS3 is a blu-Ray DVD player.. plus a game machine.. plus what ever else Sony throws in.

Sony Corp. is aiming for spring (May-July---No exact Date Yet), if they get certain specifications. Otherwise, it may be pushed back unitil November.
