The PS3 is a sleeping beast, and it will soon wake up. Even if the 360 is beating the PS3 by a 2:1 margin, that's still very good news for the PS3 because 1. it's more expensive, and it's selling well. 2. The 360 came out a year before the PS3, so even at 600 bucks, the PS3 is matching the 360's sales.
The PS3 may be losing exclusives left and right, but then again, didn't Nintendo lose the rights (not the exclusive rights) to Final Fantasy, the worst franchise to lose in the US, and the second worst franchise to lose in Japan, after Dragon Quest? Oh wait, Nintendo did lose the Dragon Quest to Sony. It's better to lose exclusive rights to a franchise than to lose the rights to the franchise. That's what doomed the N64 and GC.
MS and Nintendo have yet to steal a franchise from Sony. Losing exclusive rights to franchises isn't a big deal anymore.
And if you think Blu-ray isn't going to matter, think again. Sony may lose exclusive rights to games, but Sony games could end up being better than the 360's version because of Blu-ray. The 360 uses DVD-9, which holds about 9 gb, while Blu-ray holds 25 gb. That means developers can put more things on the PS3's version of the game. If they want to do that for the 360, they'll either have to use multiple disks, which isnt' popular, or they'll have to make it available on XBL, and MS said that there will be no free contents, so gamers will have to pay for it. Does that sound fair to you if you're a 360 owner, and you have to pay for things that PS3 owners can get for free?
The Wii may start out strong, but can it finish strong? Don't you find it suspicious that Nintendo isn't releasing as much Wii as the consumer demands? Could it be that Nintendo is deliberately releasing the Wii in very limited amounts in order to make it seem that the Wii sales are going strong?
Sony may start out slow, but it's going to finish strong. It may not sell the most consoles this year or next year, but by the time the console is over, it will sell the most.
I think you're exaggerating the sales number. The 360 is outselling the Wii, and if the 360 has a 2:1 ratio over the PS3, how can the Wii have a 4:1 ratio over the PS3?
