The Xbox 360 rendition of the Guitar sends different data than the PS2 version, therefore it would be unable to understand and comprehend the data and vice versa. The only exception of this would be if someone developed software to interpret the data from the Xbox 360 controller and emulate it as a PS2 controller. That's rather difficult, Nye impossible.

Short answer: No.

appropriate now, i might say no. There are not that many unique songs (there's a sparkling multiplayer mode, nonetheless), and with Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero 80's, and Rock Band (or in spite of the 4-participant activity is spoke of as) all popping out quickly, repurchasing a activity you have already got is particularly wasteful. anticipate the completely new product. the considerable merchandising factor for the 360 version is incredibly the downloadable content, yet appropriate now all those songs are tracks from Guitar Hero a million, so in case you have that already, you will no longer get something new inspite of the added investment of the downloaded songs. IIRC, Rock Band and GH 3 are 360 releases, and help the same guitar controller. GH 80's would be a PS2 launch. in the event that they use the same launch plan this is used for DDR, each and each of those would be released with a guitar controller, with a activity-basically version released a month or 2 later -- so in case you elect distinctive controllers, in simple terms wait and get the hot video games at launch and you're (extra effective than) set.

Just because it has USB doesn't mean that it'll work on everything that has USB. The PS3 and 360 are two completely different systems, so they're not interchangeable with each other. The guitar is just a controller, and you can't use a PS3 controller on a 360, so you can't use a 360 guitar on a PS3.
